Diya Kumari has been victorious in all three of her elections after joining the BJP in 2013. In 2013, she was elected as an MLA from the Sawai Madhopur constituency. With one of the largest victory margins—5.5 lakh votes—she was elected as an MP from Rajsamand in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. She has recently emerged victorious in Vidhyadhar Nagar’s 2023 Assembly elections.

An MLA from the Dudu Assembly seat, which is close to Jaipur, is Prem Chand Bairwa. He defeated Babulal Nagar of the Congress by a margin of more than 35,000 votes on November 25.

With the appointment of a Brahmin as chief minister and Rajput and scheduled caste leaders as deputy chief ministers, Mr. Bairwa’s appointment is perceived as an attempt by the BJP to strike a balance between caste dynamics. The Bairwa community has historically supported the Congress, hence Prem Chand Bairwa’s nomination could to be a calculated action taken by the party in front of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
