Currently serving as Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister is Jaipur princess Diya Kumari

The BJP has selected Diya Kumari to be one of Rajasthan’s new deputy chief ministers. On January 30, 1971, she was born into a royal family; her grandfather, Man Singh II, was the final Maharaja of Jaipur to hold the title during the British Raj.

For his valor in the 1971 India-Pakistan conflict, Brigadier Sawai Bhawani Singh, the father of Diya Kumari, was granted the Maha Vir Chakra.

The Maharani Gayatri Devi School was where the Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister-designate finished her education, and she graduated from Maharani College in Jaipur.

The present Maharaja of Jaipur, Padmanabh Singh, is one of her three children from her marriage to Narendra Singh. In 2018, Diya Kumari got divorced from her spouse.
Diya Kumari started her political career in 2013 at the age of chosen to serve as an MLA representing Rajasthan’s Sawai Madhopur seat. She prioritized inclusive development during her first term as an MLA, especially in the undeveloped rural areas that surrounded the city.

After winning with a resounding majority, Diya Kumari from Rajsamand made her way to the national arena in 2019.

In addition to her work in politics, Diya Kumari oversees a wide range of businesses, such as two schools, trusts, hotels, museums, and non-governmental organizations. Among other businesses, she is in charge of the Jaigarh Fort Charitable Trust and the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust.

In addition, Diya Kumari is the founder of the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering women and girls via education, training for careers, and generating income. She has taken an active part in a number of NGOs and was granted an honorary doctorate by Amity University, Jaipur in recognition of her charitable and heritage management efforts.

In the just finished Rajasthan Assembly elections, Diya Kumari prevailed by a margin of 71,368 votes in the Vidhyadhar Nagar seat. She was one of the BJP politicians predicted to become the chief minister of Rajasthan.

Diya Kumari, a beloved figure known as the “princess who walks on the streets,” has pledged to protect women, give young people employment chances, and treat farmers fairly.
